It wouldn’t be a drive up to Photostock without a stop in the lovely little German town of Frankenmuth, MI. This lovely town is a slice of bavaria in Michigan, and it shows. The downtown is a unique mix of traditional German architecture with a flavour of late 19th century American. Little shops selling sausage and cheese, even a brewing company. Even the hotels both chains and local are built to resemble lodges from Europe. It also happens to be home to the largest Christmas store, Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland, which will make you feel in the Christmas spirit even if it’s 80F outside and humid. (If you pass through, at least check out the Silent Night Memorial Chapel).
