Hometown - 10 - Where Learning is Fun
Back in my day there was no logo by the front door, but I rarely went in through the front door.

If you’re of a certain age, you might recognise the title as being part of the school song for EW Foster. Foster is the school that I have some of the fondest memories from, and that’s even including High School. As a school, Foster isn’t that special, being built in the 1980s; it is a brown one-floor brick building with no details at all. Typical 80s, but I mean Milton has only one historic school that still stands. But the real magic of Foster happened inside the walls for me, from planting a maple key in a styrofoam cup in Kindergarten that grew to higher than my parent’s house before getting cut down, to learning how to operate computers for the first time. And being able to help parents run the old Apple ][gs and //e machines. I made friends, some of whom I still keep connected with today on a limited basis. And I wish I could have continued here until High School. My middle school experience was not as pleasant. As I said earlier, there’s nothing fancy about Foster, so I figured a front door shot would be the best, even though I miscalculated how much the camera had shifted before firing the shot.
