People, Places, and Things they all intersect with our lives in various ways and at multiple times, all according to a plan. I’m one who believes that everything happens for a reason; you may not always realise it at that time or won’t until much later. Take, for example, Southside Community Church; my family attended the church briefly when it first opened, but I became attached even attending Sunday School there before going to Knox later that Sunday morning. In High School thanks to a coworker of my mom, I went to the youth group there also, met many friends, or older siblings of those who would become friends. Then into college, I started to go to a Bible Study through the church, again through an old friend I met at the youth group. And while the original group moved churches, it was another friend who through a sneaky little way invited me back to the study group. Again you think nothing of it, well it was through that group that I met Heather, who you all know became my wife. Now if you follow these things, you’ll know that this building no longer holds Southside Church, the church (that is the people) moved into the historic downtown of Milton, but I never attended church in their new building in any big way. So my memories of Southside will always be rooted here, despite the church having moved. I’ll admit this was a tough image to shoot, the day I was out had a flat grey sky with little contrast between it and the cross on the roof of the building. Rather than use my standard method of metering the shadows I wanted the detail in and under-exposing by a stop, I averaged the highlights (the cross) and the shadows (the vestibule under the word community) and hoped that between the FP4+ and Pyrocat-HD that it would work. And it did, I didn’t lose the cross in the sky.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
