I’ll be the first to admit when it comes to Toy Cameras, they aren’t my first choice when heading out. That said, I do make an effort at least once a year for World Toy Camera Day. This year the Holga rode again! Having a free Saturday Morning, and needing to take my wife’s car in for an Oil Change we decided to take a stroll through the historic downtown of our home. <\/p>\n

Every time I shoot the Holga I think, I need to take this camera out more. And therein lies the conundrum, I like to use Toy Cameras, but I can still be picky. Though I do hope to remember the Holga a little bit more, and maybe even plan a Toronto Film Shooters Meetup in conjunction with World Toy Camera Day next year. There’s just something fun about toy cameras and a little bit freeing. I shoot a lot of complicated, top-notch camera gear. So having a camera that is just point, shoot, and wait for the magic. You have to remember to remove the lens cap.<\/p>\n

I’m fairly pleased with the results, scanning all but a single frame from the roll of time and that due to some serious lens flare and obscuring the subject matter of the image. I also caught a great portrait of my lovely wife as we stopped at Victoria Park to enjoy a lovely fresh morning.<\/p>\n
