frequently|asked questions

Can I order any of your photos as prints?
Yes you can purchase my photography as prints in various sizes, forms, and media through ImageKind. There is a link in the "About" menu on the navagation bar. If there's a photo that's not there that you would like a print of, by all means send me an email: alexluyckx.photo(at)gmail(dot)com, with the flickr URL or URL where you found the shot and I'll upload it there just for you!

Have you had any formal training?
No, that's the simple answer. I picked it up as a hobby and realized that maybe I had some skill in the area, and started selling my services.

Why do you shoot with vintage/film cameras?
They're fun, and it gives me a limit to what I can shoot. The oldest camera I've used is a 1930 Agfa Box, it's just that a box, fixed focus lens, two shutter speeds, and two aperatures, no meter or anything. I actually managed some neat results. As for film, I shoot it still because I learned on film, also it limits to what I can shoot, where I can shoot and how much.

What films do you prefer to use?
It all depends, I shoot with colour negitive, black & white, and colour slide. For Black & White I tend to stick to Ilford films, but I do enjoy using Kodak Tri-X, Tmax, and for a vintage look Efke and Adox. Colour Slide is Fuji, hands down, Velvia, Astia, and Provia depending on the situation. Colour Negative is Kodak Portra or Ektar.

Can I shadow you on one of your jobs?
Sorry, but I only allow people whom I know to come along with me on jobs, and they're often put to work as well.

Are there jobs you won't take?
Yes, I will not accept jobs that go against my personal beliefs, morals, values, and phiolsophical views.

Can I use your photos on my website?
Yes! Check out the Licensing/Linking page for details on how. I don't appricate people using my work without my permission and/or passing it off as their own work. I'm not afraid to send my lawyer after you.

How many cameras do you own?
Currently the collection stands at about 25 camera. Most are fully functional and I can still get film for them. There's only one that still works but cannot be used because the film is not avalible. Some are in "retirement" as there's something not right about them. Either I need to get them fixed, or there's light-leaks so I don't use them as often.
